To compile the rankings, US News used an independent, objective rating system that gathered more than 440 user surveys of 25 meal services for criteria that included:
- Ease of preparation
- Freshness and taste
- Customer service
- Delivery options and timeliness
“Our reviewers gave Diets-to-Go high marks for the variety of meal plans and recipes,” wrote US News & World Report.
Diet-to-Go has more than 500 meals to choose from — all controlled for sodium, carbs, cholesterol and fat to be heart-healthy. Its five menus are:
Balance: This program is the most popular choice, providing delicious, calorie-controlled, balanced meals to help with weight loss* and balanced nutrition.

Vegetarian: This menu offers a vegetarian version of the classic Balance menu.
Mediterranean: This menu features whole foods that align with a Mediterranean-style eating plan and aims to help people say goodbye to “dieting” and learn how to enjoy healthy, wholesome foods as a lifestyle choice.
“Our research showed that Diet-to-Go was especially popular among those who enjoy Mediterranean or vegetarian food, as well as those who followed a diabetes-specific and keto diet,” wrote US News and World Report.
