Welcome to the weekend my friends! I shared in a blog post yesterday that I will be taking a blogging break for the rest of the year. I’m looking forward to lots of sleep, lots of delicious food (which I won’t photograph) and as many walks outside as I can squeeze into the days.
However, you will hear from me on the weekends with the newsletter. And if you have questions about a recipe, please leave comments on the recipe post so I can help when possible.
ON THIS WEEK’S BLOGS: Stuffed French bread with a savory combination of sausage, eggs and cheeses creates a hearty breakfast or brunch. French toast is the perfect vessel to hold warm, seasoned sausage, creamy eggs, and cheesy cheese.
Tender broccoli rinds, charred to perfection, complement the caramelized sweetness of the baked sweet potato. Roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes they offer a delightful combination of textures and flavors, creating a delicious side dish.
Stuffed Poblano Peppers keep a savory filling of seasoned ground beef, rice, onion and peppers. Topped with a delicious sauce and melting cheese, each bite delivers smokiness and a hint of heat.
The velvety sweetness of chocolate mixes with the flavor of walnuts in these walnut chocolate chip cookies.
Thick and soft, chewy Molasses Crush Cookies they are packed with ginger, brown sugar and molasses flavor.
Light, buttery, almond flavored cookies are the most challenging cookie I’ve made for almost as long as I can remember. My friend Augusta gave me this recipe years ago and it became a forever favorite at first bite.
What I WRONG: I had Rebecca Sushi Bake on my to-do list for far too long. I plan on making this next week and can’t wait!
MY FAVORITE THINGS this week are these bath salts. The eucalyptus and mint scent is fantastic and the salts are the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. I just ordered them again last week and realized I’ve been using them for several years now.
WHAT I’M WATCHING: Four Christmases. I still laugh every time I watch this movie. I love non-traditional Christmas movies so much, as evidenced by our 26-year tradition of watching Ref each year. Do you have a favorite Christmas movie?
WHAT I’M READING: The Wizard’s nephew by CS Lewis. At my son’s suggestion, I’m going through the series again, this time in chronological order. I haven’t read these books in at least 20 years and I’m enjoying that.
“Thank God for His indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15 NASB
I wish you a beautiful week full of little things that make you smile!
