This cake is easy to make and perfect for Turkish delights, birthdays, holidays, etc. Ice cream is amazing and everyone loves it. It’s the best frosting and it’s so good on this chocolate cake! We garnish it with walnuts, but you can easily add pecans or leave out both. Add sprinkles for birthdays!

You can add a cup of chocolate chips to this cake if you want to make it double the chocolate. You can use the nuts or leave them out and add sprinkles on top for a birthday cake!
🍽️HOW TO MAKE
This cake is simple to make and the ingredients you probably have on hand!
Beat the eggs; add cream. Add the dry ingredients to the cream mixture. Add the vanilla. Pour into 13x9x2 inch pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until cake tests with a toothpick. Note: You can add 1 cup of chocolate chips to this recipe if you want to make it double chocolate.
Step 3 – Chocolate Frosting
Place the softened butter in the mixer bowl and beat on high heat until very smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa, vanilla and milk (or water). Beat again until the frosting is spread. You may need a little more milk. If so, add 1 tablespoon at a time. Sprinkle nuts on top.
We like to use full fat cream since you are actually using this cream in place of milk. I think if you use low fat it might affect the moisture level of the cake, but you can always try.
SERVE THIS WITH
This cake is great on its own, however if you want to make it a birthday cake, it goes great with ice cream!

Sour cream is used in place of milk in this recipe, so we like to use full fat. You can always try it but we have only made it with full fat cream.
I think it would be good with any frosting!
Store this cake in a cake tin and it will keep for a few days.

- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 well beaten eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
CLASSIC CHOCOLATE FROSTING
- 1 paste butter softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 5 tablespoons milk or water
- 1 cup walnuts chopped (optional)
